"The quartet comes - underlined Federica Mogherini - in a particular moment, a few weeks before the national conference in which Libyan parties and interlocutors will find a place, a space to define their own path for the political process. The European Union has supported the Libyans in different sectors, from economy to security of the union and we will continue. We want to continue in total coordination with our partners, the League of Arab countries, the African Union and under the leadership of United Nations, supporting a single roadmap. The aim of this action, which we have decided to intensify today, is to link international and regional actors to help and support the Libyans so that they can unite in difficult but not impossible conditions”.
The UN General Secretary , Antonio Guterres, declared to journalists that today the four organizations are even more closed in supporting "the political process led by Libyans, so that they will solve by themselves problems of Libya". "The national conference - which will be held in Gadames from 14 to 16 April - represents a great opportunity to build a united, civil, capable and just state". The African Union and the Union of Arab countries declared their support to United Nations action plan and are ready to facilitate dialogue between the parties so that Libya will find its stability as soon as possible, of fundamental importance for the whole area and for European partners. Further arguments , in addition to the recommendations for the Conference, the problem of the militias in the capital Tripoli, the unification of the institutions and in particular of the Libyan national army.
